I know these are getting rave reviews and I do believe they sound great (I've always liked KEF's sound) but sheesh... to me they look like a cat's anus. ..I know it's sound that matters, but couldn't they have come up with a sonically transparent grill for these? ..I'm pretty sure people will giggle it I bring them home and set them up in my living room. ..Yes, I guess this means I have some pretty childish friends. smile.gif

I'm happy to report that I have no idea what a cat's butt looks like. tongue.gif

For every new thing I learn, I forget two things I used to know.

My apologies if my comparison has ruined the visual appeal of these speakers for anyone smile.gifsmile.gif ..As I said, it's the sound that matters most and by all accounts these are great speakers. ..But I really can't help but wonder why on earth they didn't engineer a sonically-transparent grill for them or at least make the color a little less ostentatious. ..And just to confirm I wasn't alone in my opinion, before I posted my comment I showed them to my wife and she said, "they look kinda creepy. ..Like a monkey's butt.."

...perhaps your observation is more revealing that you think.. That being said I am getting a pair of KEF's very soon and will not focus on the far end of the digestive system when I get them.

Seriously, ban this post? Have you no sense of humor? ..A picture of a monkey's behind is that offensive to you? This picture was taken at a zoo.

Obviously you don't agree with my observation, I'm sorry it so offended you. As I said, I'm a KEF fan and I'm sure the speakers are great. ..I'm simply complaining about their aesthetic. ..I'll be pretty disgusted w/ AVS if they ban this b/c of a picture of a monkey.

To some people making fun of their speakers is like making fun of their child. It's just a speaker folks.

LOL!

Thank goodness my speakers with a KEF coax has grills! I'll never be able to look at it without grills again without busting out laughing!

I can see KEFs new marketing line:

"Smooth as a Cat's A$$" biggrin.gif
