Hey guys,

I am trying to decide on speakers for my main room (20x25 with15"height). I will be using it for 80% home theater and 20% music. I am thinking to initially use them as fronts and then move them for surrounds. I already have the polk psw505 as subwoofers which I may upgrade later when I have the budget. I am considering the following speakers but am lost:

Definitive Technology Studio Monitor 350 Bookshelf
Polk Audio New Monitor 45B
JBL Studio 1 Series Studio 130
Infinity primus p163

I am leaning towards the primus p163 as I have heard they are more balanced and have a good soundstage. Although I am not sure but I heard that p163 are better than the polk tsi and rti but I have doubts about it. Can anyone please recommend whether I should go for the p163 or something else (would polk be the way to go?).

Thanks

I own the Polk m40s (relative to the 45b) and the sm450...and have heard the p163! IMHO, the def tech are the best of those three!

Set up #1: EMP e5ti, e5Ci, and EMP e5Bi surrounds, Outlaw LFM1 Plus sub, EMP 10i10i sub
Set up #2: Def Tech SM450, CLR2002, SLS Qline surrounds and Klipsch 12wD sub

Sandy Gross along with Matthew Polk and one other started Polk Audio. Sandy later founded Definitive Technology. I have only heard the Polks but my guess is that because Matt's and Sandy's thinking is the same the speakers sound similar.

Sorry, I've not used any of those as fronts, but I do use Infinity 163 as surrounds. they fill that role quite nicely in my small 5.1 bedroom setup.

Sometimes our circuits get shorted by external interference,
Signals get crossed and the balance distorted by internal incoherence.
