Hello all! As you may or may not know I ma upgrading my Bose Companion 3 speaker system. Just a few things:

My room is about 11 sqm.
I like heavy bass.
I listen to Dubstep, Drum & Bass and house
I don't have house parties or anything but sometimes I like to turn up the volume very high biggrin.gif
Don't mind a small lack of mid's etc but like a relatively clean listening experience.

>>>>Please do not mention any other speakers here<<<<

I need much help.

50% music, 40% youtube videos, 5% movie, 5% game

This is me: Big room shaking bass and very loud volumes but fairly clear satellites biggrin.gif

I ma ordering these speakers next week so I need to make up my mind fast.

Thanks all!

As I mentioned in your other thread, people here probably are not familiar with the Teufel E 400 since it's a European brand. I can't remember much talk about the Edifier's either. Not only that, but this forum tends to focus on home audio speakers. I expect you might have to make your best guess.

Since bass is your priority, what are the size of the subwoofer drivers in those two sets? And what kind of amplifier power is the subwoofer getting (not the whole set). That information could be an indication of which might have more bass.

Teufel - 150 RMS sub (225 max) - 12 inch - total 500rms i think
Edifier - 150/180RMS (rev 1 and rev 2) 10 inch with 2 passive radiators - total 300W/330W

Thanks for reply smile.gif

You can't know for sure because there are factors that could influence how loud they will get, but a 12" driver can potentially move more air than a 10" because of the larger surface area. Since both have similar amplification, it is a guess that the Teufel could have more bass output. Of course, that doesn't help with knowing which has better sounding bass.

Thanks for your reply,The Edifier has 2 10 inch passive radiators! Is that good? I have seen them in videos and they move as much as what the normal driver does biggrin.gif

Yeah. But the main driver is what's moving them. The passive radiators move in and out because of the vacuum created by the active driver.

My understanding (which is kind of limited) is that a sub with passive radiators has the potential to give the sub output more like a ported sub.

It's good.

But I think you've reached the limits of what you can determine on specs.
