Hey ya'll. First post and am building a new house. Have a wife to make happy in the living room/kitchen. The TV is gonna be mounted to an external wall which rules out in wall speakers. My wife wont allow on wall speakers.

Wondering if a 3.1 soundbar with 2 ceiling speakers for rear channels is possible to do and what system would be best. Would like to be able to use all five channels during movies/TV and 2 channels for music and possible reverb thru ceiling speakers to project the sound without blasting it.

Thanks Ya'll.

Have you considered the Sonos Playbar? It can be used as a stand alone soundbar and you have the option of adding 2 play-3 speakers as rears. However, you will not be able to use it with in ceiling-speakers.

Looks like a good system but I need to hide those rear speakers. Are there any other systems that might work in this way. Thanks

You need to look for a passive lcr soundbar. Look at Triad, Episode, Atlantic Tech and others.
Power all the speakers with a surround receiver and your good to go.
Oh, and get a powered subwoofer.
