Going to upgrade a theater room in my basement with a better front stage (currently Polk 40 with matching center).
- L/R/C for around 1000 dollars.
- room size 12 x22 with 8 foot ceiling
- mostly HT, maybe 10% music
I really like my EMPtek upstairs system, but the mini towers seem to have been discontinued and the bigger towers are too big for this space.
The Ascrnd cmt340s would be another great choice, those are a very good and balanced speaker, even if it ain't the best looking speaker around!
Have heard the pioneer aj speakers, didn't like them and as I suggested, moving away from the Polk system I bought 3 years ago.
Others to consider...Kef, martin Logan, svs, etc. Suggestions appreciated!?
A 12 inch svs sub will be coming shortly...

Set up #1: EMP e5ti, e5Ci, and SLS Q line Audio surrounds, EMP 10i10i sub
Set up #2: Def Tech SM450, CLR2002, SLS Qline surrounds and Klipsch 12wD sub
Set up #3: JBL130, JBL120C and Klipsch synergy sub

e55's too big? Nah! lol. Although it looks like they're out of stock on both Black and Red Burl for the e55's.

The Ascends would be nice. You might add the Focal 814v /matching center from A4L and the Arx A5/matching center to the list. That should come in right around $1,000 for the front stage for both

I don't know...I love the look of my Ascend 340se's with the matching TP-24 stands.

Basic Black.....turn the lights out for a movie and they disappear.

This is a work in progress...

^ I agree. I have always thought those looked nice for their price w/ the matching stands. Seems like a great speaker too

The 340s seem like a good option for getting an exact matching front sound stage across the front. Definitely a plus for HT usage.

Thanks guys....ou, not really sure if EMP has any speakers right now!
I have spent a lot of time listening to the ascend cmt 340s and they are balanced, detailed and can get loud. Just looking for additional selections to consider!
