Hello all, just wondering what the consensus opinion regarding main speaker width to MLP distance. There are various answers online and no definitive answer. I sit 13 feet back in my 28' long room. The Panny plasma is 65" and my main speakers are 10" apart.
Thanks in advanc:)e

Between 50 and 100% of the distance to the LP, assuming you have a center. In your case that's 6 1/2 to 13 feet.

Thanks Bill, now I know I'm in the ballpark. I have experimented with bringing them in closer which seems better for music but wider seems better for movies. I guess that's because movies involve the center channel whereas my main music mode doesn't.

It's a bit of a balancing act, but if you find imaging lacking when listening to music try toeing them in more. Putting them closer together also helps with 2 ch imaging, but at the cost of a wide sound stage for HT.
