You gotta listen to them and decide for yourself.

I have been listening to a pair of B&W 683s with a Klipsch RW-12d subwoofer. I pass all the bass below 80Hz to the subwoofer. It sounds great. I have no complaints about bass.

The Stereophile test data on a later model of that speaker in 2005 showed the bass to be down 3db at 40 hz. You should look at that article at the Stereophile website.

That is very good bass response. The 7 inch woofer is not passive. Both it and the 7 inch midrange are directly driven.

Very few speakers go much lower, and even then one really needs a dedicated subwoofer for reproducing the really really low stuff, like large drums and low pipe organ notes.

Those speakers should be a huge upgrade from your current speakers if they are in good operating condition. The overall sound quality will be one heck of a lot better.

Buying used speakers of that vintage is a crapshoot unless you can actually listen to them at fairly high volume to verify their operating condition.

You make those adjustments on your AMP.

Totally agree with ProfD. I have a pair of old Polk RT55i and a pair of B&W 602 S3. Although I'm using the B&W right now on my HT, listening to the Polks in my garage still gives me the smile. If I have to get rid of one of them, I'll get rid of the B&W.

So you prefer the polks?

I want to go to one brand. I front I have the RT55's, and in the back 2 B&W 601 dm's. Or I sell the polks and place B&W 603 towers.
Or I sell the B&W 601 dm's and place other little polks like rt25 ....

I prefer the Polk RT55i over the B&W 602 ..... Yes! They are both bookshelf of almost the same size. I don't know if I can say the same thing with the 603 though.
