Hey "wronganswer" - what a name.. Thanks for that suggestion. I've auditioned many receivers over the past month. The pioneer SC-1222 powered the LSI15s well. I purchased the LSI7s for surround and looking to purchase the LSIC for center. I doubt the SC-1222 can handle all this load. I don't think I need a seperate subwoofer yet for my use. The LSI15s sound awesome.

So I returned the SC-1222 and got a SC-1522 on Amazon. Waiting for the SC-1522 to arrive.

Oh by the way - the LSI 15s sound much better with 20 hours of break in compared to brand new. I am planning to leave them turned ON for the weekend and go away so they break in even more even faster.

Thanks for all the suggestions! This forum is awesome..

upgrading to the 1522 is going to make very little difference for driving them speakers. folks that think 15 extra watts is going to do anything is severely misinformed. in the end all that matters is your happy. congrats!

Thanks. You may be right about the additional 15 watts. I'll try it out and post an update. And I picked up a used Parasound HCA-1200 amplifier on craigslist.

I literally bought Polk TSI400s, RTIA7s and LSI 15s all in a span of a month and auditioned in my home. Returned the TSI400s and RTIa7s. Also auditioned the Pioneer vsx-1020, sc-1222, sc-61, Yammy RX-V673 and now the SC-1522. Had enough and now thinking I'll keep the SC-1522 for a long time. Obviously only if its worth it. Or back it goes to Amazon!

Now that I have a Polk LSI Home Theater I am looking for a decent BUDGET subwoofer. Started a new thread with details.

Thanks everyone for making this happen. Without your knowledge, criticism, comments this wouldn't have been possible.

The best budget sub would have to be the Klipsch RW-12D.

Quick update: the pioneer sc-1522 is awesome. Clear and noticeable difference while using THX Neo cinema+dolby PL cinema. Way better than Dolby Pl2x. Sounds sweet and non intrusive. Anyone thinking of getting the sc-1522, go ahead and get it.

I auditioned the Yammy RX-V673. It's not THX certified and not have Neo X. To my ears the THX neo cinema + Dolby pl cinema on the Sc-1522 is the best I've heard. There are other THX audio modes on the SC-1522 that are way better than the normal Dolby Dts PL2X. I even demonstrated to my friend who has the sc-1222 and she's jealous of the SC-1522.
