I have a pair of Martin Logan Motion 4 speakers and would like to explore the possibility of using them as in-wall purely for aesthetic purposes. I currently have a pair of Speakercraft MT Two rectangular speakers installed in-wall that I am looking to replace because I just find their performance to be less than I would like (for TV watching and music).

These are for the Front Left and Front Right channels for a family room TV setup. I am wondering what the actual reasons are (if any) why doing something like this would not be a good idea. Also if anyone has done something similar in the past and has any tips or technique on how to do something like this please feel free to share!

Thank you!

How deep are those speakers? Will they fully fit within the thickness of the wall?

Once you put them in the wall you will change the character of the speaker, usually giving it some mid-bass boost.  You might be able to correct this with EQ.  In general I wouldn't recommend it.

The wall is about 5.5" deep so the Martin Logan Motion 4's can definitely fit in there.

I see, thank you for the advice.
