I am going to have a 17 ft (back wall to mantle TV) x 19.7 ft. grand room with vaulted ceiling. I would like to build the speakers into the wall so they aren't visible (a plate flush with the wall will cover their location) save for the front speakers which will go inside a built in wall cabinet. I'd like to have it 7.1 and spend around $1000 on the speakers. What can you all recommend?

I think you need to be a little more realistic about what you're trying to do. Getting 3 fronts to go in a cabinet along with 4 inwalls and a sub for $1000 might be a little tough.

How much room will there be in the cabinets for the front three?

How about 5.1 with 5 matching in-wall and a sub for $1,000 to $1,200?
