Everything I've read says either directly to the side or slightly behind. My room has openings on both sides of the seating position, and I would have to position my dipoles about 1-2' forward (toward the tv) of the listening position on the couch. Of course they would be about 2-3' above the listening position as well.

I realize this would take me out of the null for the dipole. Is this ok? Should I consider bipoles instead? I'm also considering "quadpoles" (Axiom QS8), would that affect things?
