i have not found one, and i feel that cerwin vega is often under rated, so here is the thread!

i have cerwin vega vs120s and i love them. i have them as front channels in a 5.2 set up, and sometimes i wonder why i even have two subs. one 8in sub would be a great addition to my setup as the two 10s are not needed when i have the vs120s running at 350watts rms each. the cerwin vega subs are great too.

i feel people hate on the new cerwin vega stuff because they say its not as good as the old stuff. i think the VE line and the XLS line are some of cerwin vegas finest.(the xls215s at the top of the list)

feel free to share any pics of you CVs and your HT with cv components(amps or surround speakers)

pics coming soon

hahaha i came here from that forum. they all were rude so i posted pics of fat half naked fat men titled "my new xls215 and at15s +hfa18 sub" that got me ip banned. i really did not want to be on the forum anymore since there was really no helpful feed back and a lot of rudeness. i would never do that to this forum though. but in my two months of being there, ive never seen anybody post about blown tweeter

they sound good. the woofers arnt rated at 250 watts, whats for the whole speaker. but the woofer could handle that much if you gave it that much.

i believe the woofers pretty much sound the same.

That's very likely the nicest CV system set-up I've ever seen. I wish the image possessed a bit more rez, I'd like to examine the details further.

Thanks for sharing. cool.gif

Dang! Not much action here.

Was entertaining the idea of buying a pair a XLS 28s and the XLS 6C for a modestly priced upgrade to my front 3. Mostly movies and TV but music is still important.

Any thoughts? I will be running these with a SVS PC12+.

I have a full, 7.3 cerwin sourround system.
Fronts- e712's
Center- ve5c
Surround- ve5m
Surround back- ve5m
Front subs- (2) lw10
Rear sub (wired with high level input off surround back channel)- ht10sa

Driving it all is a pioneer sc-1227.

I have just ordered an emotiva upa-700. Comes in Nov 11. Thoughts on if the emotiva is the right purchase to push my system to better sound/louder?

Pics coming soon!

Back when I was a teenager....

No problem with blowing tweeters and these speakers got abused bigtime! Not to mention I had plenty of friends who owned CV as far back as the late 70's or early 80's models all the way up to the VE series and nobody ever blew a driver on them. I personally measured 125dB at 3 meters from my VS-150. Oh yea, I did blow caps in the crossovers, heh... But that could of still been from running a lower powered AVR into clipping? I used those speakers with everything from a 100watt AVR to a 350watt per channel Carver poweramp. Who knows where the blown caps came from as I bought them as demo floor models from a going out of business Silo. I remember when Sears used to sell CV.

I used to have a 7.4 setup with 7 CLS 215 speakers, 2 dual 18'' subs, and 2 single 18''subs. I've moved on since then but it is still the most powerful setup I've ever owned.

would buying 2 - XLS6c speakers be better than having 2 - XLS6 speakers for surrounds ? ya think it would be with an extra 6.5" speaker . I might have to try that  :)  ... 3 - XLS6c speakers ? hmmmmmmmm.
