I have 2 different center channel speakers to choose from at the moment. I have a Martin Logan Motion 8 or a DT 1000...I also have B&W 684 towers all powered by a Denon AVR 3312CI. I am primarily a movie/TV watcher. Very rarely use this setup for music. Just looking for input on which might be best and what crossover to set the fronts to. Thanks!

Are you running a sub? Otherwise crossover is moot. Also, not quite how good a non matching center channel is going to sound. If you are running a sub, I crossover my 684's at 60hz with them set to small.

Try both CC speakers, and go with the one that works best with your mains.

Run Audyssey, set all speakers to "small".

If the crossover on your mains is set lower than 80Hz, try raising it to 80Hz and see if that sounds better. If it does, leave it there; if it doesn't, drop it back down to whatever it was set to.

Hey Thanks. I am running a sub, set the receiver to LFE. It is not a powerful sub, just 150w 10 inch polk...

Yeah I like the DT for clarity, the ML seems a little muddled. I had set the X-overs to 100 for the fronts and 120 for the center...just trying it out. I think i will lower them all to 80hz and just see from there. Thanks for the help...

100hz seems pretty high for the 684's. Like I said, I'm using 60hz on mine. You've got a pretty weak sub, you might even try setting your fronts to large and enabling extra bass to see how that sounds.

I set the fronts to 80, and the center to 120 the surrounds are at 150. Seems to sound pretty good with my current set-up. I have old yamaha surr speakers from an out of a box 5.1 set...looking to upgrade those next.
