ive been looking through some audiophile speakers, and these legacy focus SEs really have my attention.

im thinking about saving up for a while and getting them, but i would have to raise my budget to about 12 grand. ive not found many good reviews on these speakers, and i was thinking about pairing them with two HSU ULS15s.

please tell me what you think, and what suggestions for the receiver and amp i should use to power these. im usually looking at CV stuff and PA power amps, so im new to audiophile speakers.

any help would be great, thanks!

heres what im looking at

im used to good bass, so the 2 12in woofers on these should be great. and also, along with the bass id like, i would also like great mids and highs

thats how my sig and this thread are related

Using twelve inch woofers when you have subs is fairly pointless.

How about using these speakers without a sub. That's what I do. I don't have the Focus, but the Classic though. More than enough bass for me.

no, i want subs. the subs will go lower than the towers and give better headroom for greater bass output combined.

its not like it will make it sound worse

When you got them, did you compare them against other speakers? Can you tell us what your impressions were?

I'm an old guy, so I have had many pairs of speakers in my lifetime. I think these are the best sounding speakers that I have ever owned. They are very clear or revealing and the bass is too die for. You will not be disappointed in these.

Literally, the only knock I've heard against the Legacy Audio brand is that the sound stage is miniscule. Do you find that to be the case?

That would be the intent for a tower, any tower, let alone one loaded with twelves. Towers are made to run full range, down to at least 40Hz. That's why they're so large. If you're only running them to 80Hz or higher that size, as well as large drivers, isn't being utilized.
