I've been reading many other threads which have similar budgets to mine for speaker+sub purchasing and have an idea of what I might do. So here's the scoop.
I'm looking to setup either 2.1 or 3.1 for now with the thought of adding in rears for a 5.1 setup.
I will use this mainly for movies and gaming (ps3 and ps4 when it comes out). Music is taken care of at my PC with headphones/studio monitors.
I have a Pioneer sc-1222-k on the way since it's on sale from Newegg. And now I'm picking out some speakers and a sub.
It looks like HSU packages would be a good fit but I'm also very interested in a KEF Q300/600/100 setup.
KEF Q300 pair - $500 @ acc4less
KEF Q600c - $450 @ acc4less
HSU VTF-15h - $879
Then add in KEF Q100 pair for rears when my wallet recovers from the initial shock
Also - any suggestions for stands for the Q300?
Just figured I'd toss the idea out there. Would these speakers and sub with the pioneer sc-1222 be a good fit?
Or do I go for a better setup over time by starting with 2.1 with:
KEF Q900 $1300 pair @ acc4less
HSU vtf15h $879
Then add in a center channel....then rears eventually. Or would the sub kind of defeat the purpose of going to the q900?
Any input is apprciated!
