I've got this system I'm not using ( http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00006J054 ) and am thinking of using the two cube speakers for left and right front surrounds and adding another Bose speaker for a center channel.

Are they decent for this purpose or should I just get something else entirely?

You have to use the bass module with that system and you can't add a 3rd speaker to it.

You'd be better off selling the AM3 and starting over and buying some bookshelf speakers and a real subwoofer.

Bose holds their value really well so you should get a decent price for it.

What receiver do you currently own?

Thanks for the reply. Haven't purchased a receiver yet for the 5.1 system I'm setting up but will probably go with a Denon.

The receiver I do have, which was used with the Bose speakers/bass module, is the Onkyo CR-325. Maybe I can throw the whole set up on eBay or Craigslist.

Try Craigslist first, you're in a metropolitan area and should find some local takers.
