Thanks in advance to those that reply!

I think my question is pretty simple!?

I really really like the Pioneer SP-PK52FS speakers! I DO NOT like that the rear speakers are as big as they are. Any suggestions on rear speakers that I could add in place of the bulkier Pioneer ones? Is this even a good idea to mix and match speakers? From a looks perspective that does not concern me.

Thanks again! smile.gif

Ok I did a search and it looks like this has been discussed although it's been quite awhile. I am assuming that most will respond that mixing and matching is probably not ideal. Sheesh decisions decisions. Our family room isn't all that big and I love the pioneer so maybe I will just go tower, center, and sub and be done with it.

Unless you are doing super critical listening of multi channel music, I wouldn't sweat mixing speakers. Rear and surround speakers don't need to exactly match the front since those generally don't have the same sounds coming from them as the front. Much less panning from front to rear than there is from left to right. Matching is ideal, but not critical.

Do you have any spare speakers lying around to test? If not, head over to your local store with a generous return policy that has a speaker you would be interested in. Try it out. If you are happy with the way they blend with the Pioneers then keep them. If not, you can return them.
