Hi

Apologies is this is explained somewhere already. I'm setting up a 7.1 dedicated theatre room and was wondering.. do the front L and R speakers have to be the same type as the rear 4 which I've already picked out? (Leviton AESS5-WH) Is it preferable all the satellite speakers are the same or should the front ones being slightly bigger. I'm kind of limited on space at the front so it would be easier to install satellite ones.

The room is 10ft x 14ft

But I do want the right set-up. The space at the front is 6 inches wide so whatever I choose would have to fit in that space.

Thanks in advance for all responses!

Honestly.. I was reading reviews on Amazon! wink.gif

The main reasoning is that they need to be small as the ceiling is low and I didn't want to bang my head into them. I need to get a complete set and nothing too extravagant, if you have a better suggestion, please share!

Cheers

This set would be much better, I'd think - 5.1 with a sub, $299 and it fits your size requirements.

http://www.amazon.com/Energy-Classic-Theater-System-Black/dp/B001202C44/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1375203081&sr=1-1&keywords=energy+take+classic+5.1

If you go on ebay, you can probably get the two rears inexpensively.

Thanks for your thoughts these do look very reasonable. Other query I had was should the front L and R be the same as the rear surrounds? Or should they be larger. I have a shelf with a 6.5 inches width, so that would be the max I could go. Extra satellites to match the set are around 70 each I was thinking perhaps to get something larger for the same budget.

Any thoughts on this?

thanks

Try looking at the Energy Take 5.0 system and add a pair of Energy CB-5 speakers for your main left and rights. Add a Dayton SUB-1200 for your sub and you should be golden. Change the center out for the larger CC-5 later on to match your fronts.

The larger fronts will give you better sound, overall, over the Take speakers.
