Hello!

I am trying to set up a good system for watching movies and listening to music. The components of the system will be :

- Sony Bravia TV : http://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/product/KDL-32NX500
- A blu-ray player with HDMI and RCA audio out
- A pair of Micrloab Solo 7c speakers http://www.microlab.com/?r=Stereosystemen&st=full&id=225

I am trying to get the best possible audio out of this system but i don't know the optimal way to connect them . My first thought was : Blu-ray Player HDMI to TV and RCA audio out to the speakers. Another option would be : Blu-ray player HDMI to TV and use the TV's RCA out to connect the speakers. Could you please tell me what the best option would be and if a separate receiver would vastly improve the system? I also want to listen to music in wav format , using the USB on the player . What would be the best option for that? Will the music be sent lossless through the RCA to the speakers?

Thanks in advance!

Do you only watch blu-ray? If not, then the best way it to use the RCA outs from the tv, unless you get the upgraded Oppo player. Otherwise the DACs in the player and tv are probably the same quality.
What are you playing the music on?

Thanks for the response!

I haven't decided on what Blu-Ray player to buy yet but i would be playing my music on the Blu-Ray player using an external HDD ( i would also watch DVDs on it ) . I wanted to get a blu-ray player with an RCA out since the speakers only have RCA input. Should i get a player with internal decoding and connect the speakers directly to it with RCA ?

If you can find a player that has analog outs, then go for it, otherwise you could get an external DAC to convert the digital output to analog.
