Will these banana plugs work for 12 gauge speaker wire?

And will they fit in the Infinity Beta 50?

1/ Why do you need banana plugs? Going to change connections a lot or move stuff around a lot?

2/ Why 12g wire? There's no spec on those plugs you link but probably would work.

3/ Yes, the spec for the speaker says it has a 5 way binding post (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Binding_post)

Banana plugs for both your avr and speakers would take 4 of those packs, for $35 to fatten the Walton pockets. Can't recommend that, those people have sucked enough life out of the US.

Try these http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10401&cs_id=1040115&p_id=5977&seq=1&format=2

I have 12 gauge ran throughout my whole HT room.

I was thinking about them because, I ran the speaker wire to short and it only sticks out of the wall about 7 inches so to hook it up and see back there is not easy.

I surely wouldn't pay $8.88 two plugs.

get some plugs from Sewell Direct. I really like the Deadbolt plugs but they have several other styles too. I use 12ga speaker wire with them

Will look in to that thank you sir. I have a Yamaha RX-V2500. For connecting the speaker wire to the connectors on the AVR do I unscrew the red and black caps and insert the bare speaker wire in the SIDE then screw down and tighten? Just doesn't seem like a good connection to me.

Bare wire is a better connection than the plug; it's direct and when tightened properly superior. Just sort of a pain to do and undo but if you're not moving or changing stuff in and out all the time, not an issue (and it's free). When you unscrew the binding post there should be a hole in the post to poke the wire through before screwing the cap back down. Do you have an extremely long run of wire to need the 12g wire? Save money on that....try this article http://www.roger-russell.com/wire/wire.htm

ps didn't see your post about the in wall thing and the short play room (you could just add more wire with a good splice you know). I use the Sewells Silverbacks myself as I move stuff around a fair amount and buy them in like a 24 or 32 pack from Amazon...but Monoprice is good too. I do prefer the set screw type rather than open screw type.
