Hey guys, so here's the deal. My dog recently knocked over and broke one of the surrounds, and I now have an excuse to give to my wife as to why I need new speakers! wink.gif

My current setup (mock if you will) in a roughly 15' square living room is:

Receiver: Yamaha RX-V363
L/R Main: Sony SS-B3000
Center: Sony SS-CN5000
Surrounds: Sony SS-B1000
Subwoofer: Paradigm PDR-8

I'm on a relatively tight budget (<$400), and would like to keep the speakers small to please the old lady (no floorstanding speakers) and to make moving easier. Best Buy has a really good deal right now on the Klipsch Quintet V 5.0 for $275. I'm not looking to replace the sub, just the normal range speakers (the Paradigm seems to be doing pretty well for this size room). If you have any suggestions over the Klipsch that are in that price range I'd really appreciate it! I primarily use the system for movies, but do not want to sacrifice the ability to play music since I do like to rock out every once in a while. Thanks in advance!

Look into the Pioneer Andrew Jones speakers: http://www.audioholics.com/reviews/speakers/floorstanding/pioneer-sp-pk52fs

You could do the BS-22 for left and right front and for surrounds, then the CS22 center. There's a discussion thread where you can find out more information: http://www.avsforum.com/t/1278774/pioneers-speaker-genius-hits-low-price-point

Did you train your dog to do that? That's clever!

Thank you all for your replies!

I wish I could've trained her to do that! Maybe someday...

The reviews of the Energys seem pretty enthusiastic, and I'm tempted get them. Has anyone heard both the Klipsch Quintet and the Energys? I live pretty far from any sort of civilization (Southwest Texas) and therefore I'm going to be buying whatever i choose without the luxury of hearing them first. Any experience with them would be greatly appreciated!
