I know that people don't pay MSRP but I'm a little shocked to hear that people can get 60% off of MSRP. I always thought 40-50% would be a screaming deal but I 60% is really a good deal.

Store employees who can buy at cost, yes. The general public, probably not.

What are the differences between the Triad Golds and the Klipsch THX Ultra2s? I have been reading up on both but am not quite sure of the contrasts?

Where the heck can you get these speakers at such a good sale price??? PM me please! I know someone who might be considering a HT in a short while.

Doesn't it depend a lot on the brands? Some brands leave way more room for discounts than others.

- Klipsch RF-82 ii, RC-62 ii, RS-52 ii
- Klipsch RW-12D
- Sony HW50es
- Firehawk G3
- Denon 2113

It's actually higher than that on Klipsch's THX Ultra2 product line. The rest of their box products are around 50% shipped, which is avg.

No, Bill. Actually 60% margin for box speakers is quite above average for dealers. Most companies start around 50% but then there are other factors like shipping, which can cut margins down quite a bit depending on the speaker. A lot of manufacturers also have free shipping spending marks (as in "spend $2,000 get free shipping" or even "spend $500 and get free shipping". It varies based on the mfg.) as well as prepay discounts and volume incentives. Lots of variables determine the dealers final cost in the end.

After wire & cable, accessories, labor, etc. Speakers are a dealer's biggest markup item. TVs are the absolute worst, projectors are ok and other electronics, like remotes, receivers and amps are in between all of that.

Awesome news!!!! Keep us posted on how things turn out.

All you need now is a solid multi-channel amp to really drive those Klipsch (a lot of receivers don't meet their advertised power specs.). But that might have to come later, depending on how much of your budget was eaten up with this purchase.
