How was it "proven"? Please explain, and don't talk about "trusting your ears" again unless it was blind/ and/or level matched as that is the only time you can truly "trust your ears".

Wait. You seriously used granite slabs for your speakers! I only use isolated sand pads. The radon released from the granite colors my sound to much. It is really noticeable between my fronts. No two slabs have the same release rate.

Since some audiophiles enjoy the pursuit of minor improvements to their system at any price, I'm all for letting them go at it. We don't all have to follow a formal scientific methodology, it is after all just a hobby.

That aside, I carefully read through everything posted by Subdusted and while I don't agree with some of his assertions, I consider that he is sincere in his intentions and genuinely interested in putting together the best system he can muster. I'll not criticize a fellow for that.

Personally, I'm content with 14 and 16 gauge zip cord to connect my speakers. There's no granite slabs under my components. And nothing is sitting on spikes. Maybe I'll play around with better wire some day - right after I exhaust all other reasonable upgrades to my system. Frankly, that's what I can muster.
