Hello all!

I have a home cinema that consists of 4 rc-70 towers primarily used for live concerts, but a lot of movies as well..

But i'm having a really hard time to find the matching center at a decent price, or even the veritas line...

I could easily find a rc-mini center or a v-mini center though... At first glance, to me it would seem that the center 4.5 woofers could be a little underpowered compared to the rc's...

But... The v-mini center goes down to 78 hz compared to the veritas's 40hz....

So my question is: since my subwoofer is crossed over at 80 hz, would the bigger center bigger woofers wouldn't be used full potential because of my sub x-over that would push those frequencies towards the sub anyway?

Phantom center could be considered, but I don't know, can't decide which option I prefer, I have a remaining kilpsch reference center until I make a move...Its not a perfect match, but it doesn't sound atrocious and I can definitely live with it for a while...

Thanks in advance, and have a nice day!

Larger mid-bass drivers provide more output above 80 htz. I've never heard any speakers with really small mid-bass or no mid-bass that was as good as a speakers with 6~8" mid-bass drivers.
A phantom center is preferred over an unmatched center.

I've got RC-70's, a RC LCR and a RC Mini Center.

The RC Mini does sound overwhelmed by the RC-70. I tried it for a few days, but didn't like it.

The Mini center does fine with my RC-10's but is a little thin sounding when paired with the much larger RC-70's.

thanks for the replies all!

As I thought, doesn't seem to be a good idea with the setup I have...

airgas: I do search , but all I've found yet is people surfing on the wave of rarity when setting their prices,,, 500$ + shipping and import taxes for a used center with a couple years of age? no F'n way. The least expensive I've found is 400$, with a lightly dented midrange... yeah right...

Ok, I'll guess I'll try to be patient this time hehe
