Thanks, Kini62
but I'm just concerned that Should I spend $500 on a bass when my 5 speakers together are $600?

I guess this is last question before I order the bass

The main concern is to get a good sub to blend with the Cambridge - you got
a good deal on the Cambridge speakers.

So SVS website suggests me to have a pb12 for s70, which is much more expensive than my budget...

Since I've spent 1100 on speakers, I guess I should be using a better AVR?

The SVS PB-1000 is a fantastic sub, and most people will tell you to spend a good chunk of your budget on a sub. I think the PB-1000 is the starting point for good subs, and it goes up from there, it would be a wise investment if it's within your budget.

Your AVR is fine, pretty much any mid-range Denon/Yamaha/Pioneer will be a good choice.

Finally, got everything hooked up. It's amazing. I still need some cheap tall speaker stands though.

Thanks to everyone!

More questions are coming though, should I place the sub at the conner or just along a wall? I can really feel the boomy when I place it at the conner. Well, I guess, It's more accurate when its along the wall. I'm confused when Dolby is suggesting locate it along the wall whereas SVS says conner can be located and feels boomy.

Thanks. I've seen posts about this. However, I doubted my own ability of identifying the best point. I guess I will try and see if that spot is really easy to identify.

Corner-loading a sub will generally increase it's output, but the sound may become boomy as you described. +1 to the sub crawl, it's pretty easy and you will be surprised how the bass changes throughout the room, this is why people have multiple subs.

I have received everything, S70, S30, S50, SVS pb1000, and Yamaha 4065. I played music from a USB flash drive with FLAC format.

I hooked up everything but when I was listening to Classical music, it didn't feel so amazing. I just used YPAO from yamaha 4065 to calibrate the system. I usually use around -30dB to play music, it sounds neutral but not that deep.

1. Should I use SPL to further calibrate the system ? I used YPAO firstly, and it did changed a few settings and improved the location feeling of the sound

2. While the speakers are said to have impedance of 4-8 Ohms, will the AVR automatically adjust the output?

3. Why my AVR shows that the volume is "-40dB"? I don't get the minus part.

4. I feel like the even the satellite HTIB in Bestbuy provides more impact than my system. What other calibration process that could possibly improve the impact that my system can produce? The impact i'm saying is not how loud the music, but the great impact that it makes you feel WOW, it's amazing.

5. Right now, I'm using S30s as my rear speakers and I haven't had money to buy some good speaker stands, Is this a possible reason that they didn't work as well as they should be?

Make sure your speakers are set to "small" and you have a crossover around 80Hz. On your sub, make sure the crossover dial is set to the max, phase is 0, and gain is set to 1/3. -30 is pretty quiet though, I usually listen around -20 to -15.

Thanks for your fast respon! I just edited my post actually.
The YPAO tuned the speakers to be "small" for front and "Large" for rear. I did change crossover to 80. The only thing i might be missing is the gain.

However, -20/ -15 is really loud in my room, I placed them at my living room and I can hear music from everyroom if I played mucis -20. I've never tried -15 so far...
That's probably one reason why I was not turned on by these speakers. I tend to quite them, don't I ?

You want all your speakers set to small, and make the bass is set to your sub.

Apparently NXG is just a bunch of *******s and I'm considering resorting to legal action against them. I bought the subwoofer you guys recommended quite a while ago but the adhesive material on the brass rings deteriorated and it started buzzing. I sent it in to get it replaced/fixed (which they failed to pay for shipping) and it's now been 3-4 months and they are just completely ignoring my emails and have failed to send me a new unit.

I'm not exactly sure what I should do.

Pretty rare for a receiver to set the fronts to small and the surrounds to large....
