I was looking to buy the MilleniaOne CT system but just came across a pair of Studio 10's on Craigslist for $600. I don't know much about home audio, what would I need to get a good system going? Note: I'm not obsessed with bass.

Side question: The M1 CT has DSP processing to down mix DD 5.1, does that really make a big difference over PCM if it's just 2 speakers?

They're okay... They can go very loud. They'd be fine for games but vocals leave a lot to be desired because they're not very forgiving. (At least in my experience with the Studio 20 V. 3's).

I am sure that the Studio 10s would work fine. You would still probably want a sub. I would suggest something from SVS Audio or HSU Research.

I don't know for sure, but I wouldn't think so. What kind of receiver/amp will you be using with the speakers?

The M1 CT comes with a sub / amp, if I got the Studio 10's I'm not sure what I would get with them.

Or maybe I'll just get the base Millenia CT, my room isn't exactly great for acoustics and I play / watch with my back up against a wall.

Well, you would definitely need to buy a receiver or amplifier to go with the Studio 10s.

A simple low cost AVR would do the job - starting about $150

The Studio 10s are far more in the way of being speakers than that little portable setup. The woofers in the Studio 10s are larger than the subwoofer in the portable setup.
