hey guys....thanks in advance for the advice!

Here's what i have so far:

Onkyo TX-NR626
Epson 8350 Projector
Elite Screens ER114WX1 Sable Fixed Frame Projection Screen -114 -Inch
Room Size - 13x16 with 3 walls, back of the room is open to the kitchen and dining room, ceiling height is 9'

I'm looking at staying under the $2000 if i can for accessories and wiring. I'd like to go with two subs if possible, but not necessary right now if one can do the job. i was thinking of 5.1 and adding the 2 other speakers later. I'm not too fond of in-wall speakers. i'd like something that can get loud and sound great! FYI...I'm a big fan of low bass response

uses:
60% home-theater
10% gaming
10% music
20% watching TV

I've looked at SVS,Ascend, HSU and they're all great speakers, just hard to decide. any help is greatly appreciated!

5.1
about $500 on the sub.
5 identical speakers, around a 5 1/2 inch woofer.
All decent brands.
NHT, KEF are other choices. I'll let others sound off.

One option is to go with Ascend CMT-340 across the front and CBM-170 for surrounds. That is around $1200 total. Then look at SVS, Hsu, Powersound Audio or Rythmik for a sub in the $800 range.

Cambridge Audio S30's x3 pairs (one spare, one for the center) should be $657.00. SVS PB12NSD x2 from the Outlet $1458 = $2115

Personally, I think one SVS PB12NSD would be sufficient for now, eventually you can add another if necessary.

Never hurts to save a little money cool.gif

Will do, running wiring and lighting at the moment. received the subs last week.....these puppies are huge, but awesome!!! others should be shipped on the 25th, Ascend said their cabinets for the center and front speakers will be arriving on the 18th. also added two rears(CBM-170s) for the full 7.2. biggrin.gif

i'll send pics once they're all here.

What do you all think about the Harmony Ultimate remote? it was either that or the Monster AVL300, but it doesn't look like its supported any longer by Monster. This will control all of my AV equipment along with lighting.

also added a LG BP730 Blu-ray player to the list

Congrats - sounds like a great setup! Can't wait to get your reviews on your own system wink.gif

And +1 re not fretting about going just a little over budget. Since setting up our home theater ... the family loves watching movies at home so much now (often with friends invited over for a movie night) that we seldom go to the multiplex anymore. And, we've kind of re-discovered how much fun it is to just sit and listen to music together wink.gif

These days most electronics have an app for remote control. You could grab a Nexus 7 tablet for $250 and control pretty much everything, something to look into.

I hear iRule is great, it costs 49.99 but you can program it to control everything in your home.

If you want to do Z-wave lighting, then Monster AVL300. If Z-wave is not needed, then go with the Ultimate. If you want to be able to use your phone as a remote, but still have a hard button remote, the Ultimate would be a good choice.
