Never done business with them before, but I've read good reviews.

They're amazing speakers, I hope people from this forum get them before they're gone!

$189 is still about $30 cheaper than normal but I would never buy from a company that made me ME pay for return shipping if the item turns out to be defective.

So according to what you posted above if you receive a defective item then you pay for return shipping and they also deduct the cost of shipping the item to you from your refund. That's BS. I would never deal with a company who had those rules.

It says they will pay shipping for an exchange, but not if you just want a refund. Probably tired of people auditioning things and returning the ones they don't want. Agree it's not a very customer friendly policy, but I can see that getting expensive for a smaller company.
The special arrangement with certain manufacturers explains the situation Losservatore had with his Marantz.

It's expensive for any company. A lot of company's don't refund the shipping cost if you return the item. In this case, it's how they make their prices more customer friendly smile.gif

Yeah, and it's not just the shipping, but they also have to sell the returned item as an open box. It's not a bad policy as long as you are sure you know what you want, since they will pay the shipping to exchange a defective product. I think people are just getting spoiled by a lot of the ID companies who agree to pay shipping both ways no questions asked. That is a bit different since there are usually no showrooms where people can hear those speakers before buying them.

But people tend to overlook the fact that you're still paying for that free shipping both ways... It's just that it's factored into the price of the product...

There's no free lunch, so they say... Unless you work for Google apparently.

I've bought a few things from AC4Less and my experiences have been positive. They did send me the wrong color of speaker once, but gave me no issues with returning and sent me a return label with no charge to me... as they should have since it was their mistake.

So this price is for a pair, correct ?

Do you think you can compare these speakers with QS8 v3 for using as Surround Speakers ? Or QS8 is better ?

They're different types of speakers but I'd prefer the S30 as rears.

Yes the price is for the pair.

Thanks!
Any better/best choices for surround than S30 around $600-700 pair.

Monitor Audio RX-1

If you look at my threads started, I did a comparison between the S30's, RX-1's, and the Paradigm Studio's. I hope it helps!

+1. I owned a pair of RX-1's, and regrettably had to sell them a few months back due to a layoff. They are fantastic speakers, and I miss them dearly...

I'm really sorry to hear that, I hope you find a new job of equal or greater value to you than before. When you land on your feet, take off running. I wish you well.

Can someone help me out here? Last month I returned two pairs of the oak S30's because of what I thought was a defect in the oak finish. I just looked at some photos of the S30's on Google images and I'm seeing the same defect I saw on the two pairs I had. On the left side of the speaker you can see these white wavy lines that don't look they should be part of the finish. Up close it sticks out like a sore thumb. Is this actually part of the oak finish?

That is wood.... It isn't perfect.

That is just the way the grain of the wood/cut ended up. It is not an imperfection at all. In fact, it is quite lovely if you ask me!

If that's what you were considering defective, I think you just had unrealistic expectations about what the finish should look like. They call it dark oak, but it looks nothing like oak (or even faux oak for that matter)...at least not the pair that I had.
