I have a 7.2 Polk RTI system: 2 x RTI A9, 4 x RTI A5, CSI A6. All are driven by 2 Emotiva XPA 2/5 and a Denon 4311i as a preamp.
Today while I was watching the Wizard of OZ in 3D, I noticed that my surround left speaker sounds like it has static or crackling that occurs with certain parts of the movie.
I tried to switch the RCA input to the XPA 5 between the left and right speakers and the left speaker still had the issue with the RCA input from the right channel.
I then changed the amplifier channel for that speaker the issue still existed. That tells me it is an issue with either the speaker or the wiring from the amp to the speaker.
This issue did not happen when I tried a more modern movie such as Tron. Could it be possible that it is just an old movie?
If not, how do I proceed from here? Is there something that I can do to pinpoint the source of the problem?
