Hey guys, I've lurked these forums for months before actually making an account. I've been trying to learn all I can before making some decisions on what I want without spending too much.

What I'd like is some input on what I have picked out and if it is going to perform in my room or if there are better options for around the same price. I don't know what I like in speakers, but I have had Sennheiser HD555 headphones for years along with Beyerdynamic DT880 pro (600 ohm) headphones. I slightly prefer the brighter sound of the DT880's, but I don't have a problem with the warmer sound of the 555's either.  Because of this, I've been really up in the air on what speakers to look at. I know I'd prefer to have towers for L/R. I think I'm going to try the EMP Tek's based on looks and what I've read in reviews.

Here is what I am thinking:

Panasonic TC-65PS64

Denon x2000

E55Ti Tower Speakers

E56Ci Center Channel Speaker
E55Wi Surround On-wall Speaker
SVS PC12-Plus

My basement is 14x18x7 but this is going to change because I am currently in my parents house and within the year I'll be moving. I can't imagine this stuff will be going into a bigger room though.

It will be used for probably 75% movies/TV and 25% music.

I'm going to be purchasing the TV soon, but I am planning on waiting until black friday for all the audio stuff, hoping to catch some sales.

Will that sub fill up the room good enough? I'd like to avoid 2 subs if possible. I'm still unsure whether or not I should get the surrounds or bookshelves for the back channels, but I'm leaning more towards surrounds.

I will probably have more questions when I am in the set up stage, seeing as have never setup an audio system before, but that is still a while away. I've been reading about the REW program and SPL meters. But is all that stuff needed when using Audyssey?

Ok, I'm going to stop rambling now.  Thanks in advance and I hope to continue learning.

No one has any advice? Now I'm looking into maybe getting a 2313CI instead of a x2000... too many options

Looks like a great system. And the PC12+ would not have a problem filling that room. You just need to find the best spot for it. Unless the 2313 is a LOT cheaper I would just go with the X2000.

Sounds good, thanks for the reinforcement. I've been reading about sub placement and it sounds like such a hassle haha

Do a search for the "sub crawl" method. This is a good way to determine a good spot for your subwoofer.
