My Swans Diva speakers finally died (amp) so I'm looking for a new pair of active monitors for music listening @ the computer (so near-field listening). I already have a nice active subwoofer w. crossover so I'm looking for ONLY the L/R speakers. They must be active and I want to keep the price under $250 (shipped) for the pair.

Emotiva Airmotiv 4s are a great option, but a little more than your budget.

+1 Right now they are on sale for $299 and while slightly over, they are fantastic speakers. The tweeter is very good and many people consider these better sounding than the Audioengine A5. The Audioengine A2s are in your budget, but I think saving a little bit more for those Emotivas would be a great idea.

I can't imagine you wouldn't like them. I see you have the HD600s? I'm not saying the Airmotivs are good as those, but I think someone with those Senns would be extremely happy with the SQ they get from the Airmotivs for the price. smile.gif

Yes, I've got the HD600s as well as Etymotic ER4 & a set of UE Triple.fi Pros. Most of my critical listening is done with the headphones but I'll find some time to compare them with my (v2) Paradigm Sig 40s.

The speakers arrived yesterday and I got them hooked up. WOW... what a great product and an improvement over my M200 Swans Divas. I have not even attempted improving the placement yet (head height, sound treatments, etc.). Thanks again for the recommendation...
