I am investing in new speakers for my home theater system. The amp I have now is a 110w sony receiver and I am not upgrading it.

For a HT should I get floor standing or book shelf front speakers?

Right now top of my list is the Paradigm Monitor 11 for my fronts. Center 3, surround 3, and pdr 10 sub. I can get them for about $2900 + tax.

What are some other speakers that I should look into? My max budget is $3000.

I have also been looking at this Difinative set for $2300

2x BP-8060ST
1x CS-8040HD
2x SR-8040BP

Skip the PDR 10 sub. Not only does it seem a pretty weak choice given your budget, but the best price/performance values on subs comes from Internet direct subwoofer vendors SVS Audio, Power Sound Audio, HSU Research, Outlaw Audio, and Rythmik.

And you need a sub that can fill your size room. How big is your room and any open connecting areas (subs see the whole space)?

Assuming you don't have cathedral ceilings (which would mean even more space), something like the Power Sound Audio XV15 (or more powerful) would be a minimum for that size space.
