On the face of the specs, I would go with the Fluance speakers. But I would give the used market a thorough examination before I settled on either of those speakers.

Neither one -

I would stretch the budget for the Cambridge S30
http://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/CAMBS30OAK/CAMBRIDGE-AUDIO-S30-4-2-way-Bookshelf-Speakers-Pair-Dark-Oak/1.html

If you do not want to spend that much and already have a sub -
then a good deal on the NHT SuperZero speakers

If you would like a small amp, the Topping TP21 and Indeed TA2021 t-amps do quite well. Depends on what your goal is for this setup. Is it for computer desktop use? Small bedroom setup?

That was a quick decision - however, the reviews seem to be positive for the amp.

Yeah it had good reviews. I trust the brand. I own some other stuff of theirs. And it's extremely compact which is what I need

I'll be curious to see how it sounds. It had looked at those before going with the Indeed TA2021 (having previously used one of the Lepai TA2020 models). But I had been concerned that the popularity of the A1 was mainly due to FiiO brand loyalty. Whereas the triparth chipsets are popular in the DIY community, as well as other t-amp enthusiasts who have collected and tried various models (for example).

The Indeed amp does look interesting - for one who may be interested in such things.

You'd be surprised how good they sound for the money. I do like my HK 3390 a bit better, but not so much that I can't be happy with the TA2021 sound. The Triparth chipsets are popular because their signature sound has this smoothness to it, as opposed to the cold thinness and edgy highs that some of the other inexpensive class D designs have been criticized for. So the HK seems a touch more refined, but the TA2021 is very pleasant to listen to.

Plus, I was able to measure 100 db (using pink noise) from 3 feet away with the Indeed TA2021, and the amp still had a touch more headroom (although I did feel the amp was starting to lose composure at this point). This with the Ascend Acoustics CBM-170 SEs. So with decent sensitivity bookshelves, plenty of headroom on the amp for more normal volume listening in a computer setup, and it fills my small, home office room with moderate listening volume for when not seated at the computer.

So I like it enough that I bought one for another room, and then recently picked up one to give to my brother as a present for use in his office.
