A home theater 5.1, bookshelf speakers

For watching movies and sports

For a room size of 30 feet x 14 feet

What would be your recommendation for this price range?

My budget is around $1300

Welcome to the forums. I notice you have the same post in the HTIB forum. Do you want a recommendation here for speakers & sub alone? No receiver, dvd/blu-ray player as with a typical HTIB?

+1

This would be a much better setup than an HTIB package. smile.gif

Some else suggested that I add these information as well

I dont have any speakers currently and just use the speakers from the Samsung TV which I got last year

The TV has HDMI and analog outlets

Dont need ipod connections. Just need to connect to the TV and the DVD player.

For a cable connection

Bookshelf speakers is what I am looking for

I would need recommendation in speakers + receiver

The room is prewired for 5.1 bookshelf speakers

My listening habits are 80% Movies/TV/Sports and 20% pop music.

OP - ac4l translates in English to accessories4less.com for a refurbished avr (still with warranty) smile.gif

All good suggestions so far, unless you want to up your budget....

Try looking at NHT super zero's for your main and surround speakers with their subs sound great and u can still afford a nice little Denon to power them.

As nice as I think the SZs are (I run 5 of them) they are too small for that room unless the OP's MLP is pretty close, like 9ft or less.
