Which of these speakers produce better quality sound for watching movies and sports on TV for a living room scenario.

1) Klipsch Reference RB51/RB61 speakers

2) Pioneer BS22 speakers

3) Bose Acoustimass 10 speakers

Would appreciate any comments

If you narrow down your price range and configuration (number of speakers), the recommendations would be a lot more helpful.

Out of those choices, the Klipsch would be the best by far. Bose shouldn't even be on the list, and the Pioneer are low-end budget speakers (although they are supposed to be decent for the price).

So you need 5 speakers, a sub and an AVR? Room size? Main listening position distance?

And what does "Gt Engineer" have to do with this?

Klipsch RF-62II, RC-500, RS-400, SVS PC12+,
Def Tech SC8000
Harman Kardon AVR 1600

I think he was addressing me, "gtengineer". Ha!

I also believe Klipsch is a great choice for this budget. Of course with this much budget, quite a few other brands become available to you. Generally speaking, when a shopper has a budget like this to work with on speakers for home theater use, I recommend spending up to 1/2 of it on a good subwoofer since it is critical to the proper performance of a home theater system. I've been out of the home theater scene for a while so I don't know what the current go-to brand is for subwoofers. Back when I was in it, SVS and HSU were top brands. For all I know they still might be, but you should definitely ask around in the subwoofer forum.

Do you already have a receiver? If so, which make and model.

if the $2K budget is only for 5.1 you can do better than choice 2 and 3 for sure.

Given the large viewing distance, I would recommend Klipsch due to their higher sensitivity.

Denon AVR-X2000
SVS PB-1000
Klipsch RB-51 II
Klipsch RC-52 II
Klipsch RS-52 II

Look at the size of each speaker...and you should be able to eliminate one choise. For SQ of a speaker, size matter...

Set up #1: EMP e5ti, e5Ci, and EMP e5Bi surrounds, Outlaw LFM1 Plus sub, EMP 10i10i sub
Set up #2: Def Tech SM450, CLR2002, SLS Qline surrounds and Klipsch 12wD sub

Look at the HSU Hybrid 5.1 packages - if budget gets tight, you can go 3.1 and get some smaller surrounds
