I was previously torn between getting stands for my front speakers to bring them up to ear level or biting the bullet and getting a set of matching towers. Well, thanks to an excessive amount of OT this week and last I've decided to get a new set of fronts (and take the GF on a Disney cruise, but that's beside the point.) My front and rear speakers are Infinity Primus 150's (I thought I had 160's, but happened to notice the model number on the back them this morning) with the Primus C25 center channel.
Conventional logic says that your fronts and center should be from the same brand, same series. I understand that the similar materials and builds will yield a similar quality of sound and will be complimentary. But with the advent of technologies like Audyssey MultiEQ is that still true? Audyssey's web site says that the MultiEQ XT sets individual EQ settings for each channel. Is that enough to overcome sound differences inherent in different speaker makes/models?
