My head is swimming ... I have gone there so many times in the last week, i may start to collect a paycheck.

Martin Logan EM-ESL (Buy 2 get a Dynamo sub free)
B&W 685 or CM9 or CM8
Def Tech Super towers or SM55's?

I want a 7.2 system that the wife would enjoy, can crank if I want it to and can go low for normal viewing without losing clarity.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Only thing i know for sure is that i will be driving it (Initially at least) with a Denon 2313

Can anyone out there possibly give me some options based on what Best Buy carries and make a good system for me?

Movies 60%
Games 40%
Music the other 10% smile.gif

I like the way the 683 sound on movies
The CM9 sounded great on Pink Floyd
The SM55 sounded great as well but they didnt have the 8040 CC to demo
The ML speakers sounded great also.

The BW subs sounded nice as well

Problem is they are all in a demo room and i am lost.

I don't differentiate much between movies and games, I think they should be the same. Music on the other hand is different. Since you are going with 100% HT, then go with he 683 you said you liked.

+1 for the 683. Get the matching center and a pair of 686 for surrounds. For a sub however, don't buy from Best Buy. You can get something much much better online and pay less. Look at brands like SVS, HSU, Rythmik, and Power Sound Audio.

Edit: Something else to consider is going with the 685 bookshelves and when you pair them with a good sub, you don't lose anything compared to towers. This is a good way to get more bang for your buck.

Well, the 683s are a three way. The 685s are comparable to the 684s. I demoed the 683s and 684s and you DO lose something. The 683s sounded much nicer, especially the mid-range which I'll attribute to the dedicated mid-range.

The ESLs have the best sound (IMO) if you have the space and place for a proper setup.

The Def Tech STs are nice if you can't have a separate sub. Crutchfield has a buy 2 8060STs and get a pair of 8040 surrounds and an 8040 center for free. Might want to check if BB has something like that. It would make a really nice system.

Klipsch RF-62II, RC-500, RS-400, SVS PC12+,
Def Tech SC8000
Harman Kardon AVR 1600
PS3, Apple TV, Sharp 70" Qattron

If you are not stuck with Best Buy for a subwoofer - then the SM55

Get a sub from a dedicated sub company - as stated in Post #3
