I have the following Klipsch speakers:

Sub:RW-12d
L&R towers: RF-82ii
center: RC-42ii

Using the Denon AVR-2313

Initially, audessy set the towers to "large" and their range to "full" with the "small" center channel having a crossover of 80HZ

I thought the low frequency sounded very weak with these settings, so I changed the towers to small and the crossovers are now at 40HZ

Bass is now much more pronounced. I also experimented with setting the sub to "punch" instead of "flat", but I haven't run audessy again after making that change.

Considering this receiver, speaker, and sub combination, does this sound reasonable or can someone provide guidance on different crossover/sub/receiver settings?

I know "a little" about video, but I'm totally in the dark when it comes to audio, so some advice would be appreciated.

I would set the crossover at 80hz. Those speakers are not capable of playing down to 40hz (+/- 3db)!

+1

No subwoofer I've heard has been able to produce the bass I've experienced in the Corps!

Must..stop...buying...every bluray release...

Thanks for the info.

I'll set the crossovers for the RF-82ii's to 80 then.

Thanks!

Your subwoofer is much more suited to playing the 40-80hz freq, so your sound quality should improve.

Here are some measurements of the RF-82ii speakers

Thanks again.

Being a "sound dunce", I assumed Audessy would have selected the most appropriate settings and crossover levels. But it was clear that it didn't sound right after running it for the new RF-82's I added.

Much better now!
