From the darkness, out pops Bose in bright red when turning on the radio. I drive an Audi Quattro with the Bose. I love my car, it rocks. And though I love the way it drives, you should see the reaction I get from the the women when I turn on the Bose. One can only imagine what their thinking, but Bose really gets their wheels spinning. If you ever have the good fortune to experience this yourself, remember at moments like this it is critical to remain very, very cool.

It makes me laugh too, that so many fall for it. After all, it is just an upgraded car radio. Do you think I would be getting any if it said Basic Radio? Maybe, maybe not, but why take a chance.

Take it from me, go with the Bose.

People take notice. First post to slam some free spam about Bose. The company that refuses to publish the specs and use Kool-Aid marketing. They don't want you to know the 46-200 Hz, 280Hz-13.3Khz frequency response. They wonder why so many people here hate them. Oh what the heck, this is the choir I am preaching to.

Bose car audio is pretty good. All optional car audio seems to be overpriced, and in this context Bose's usual pricing is not that bad.

Note: in some cases the standard car system is actually the better system.

You're right Arnie. I've heard a few Bose car systems that sound like crap, and a few that sound pretty decent. The one in my QX56 isn't half bad. It's not great by any stretch, but for factory it's pretty good.

It's also a whole lot easier to design a car stereo because you have a standard size "room" that is exactly the same in each case so you can tailor a consistent sound for the car. Not so easily done in a house.

You probably won't notice the sub-par sound since more attention is being paid to the surroundings and the background noise is higher. Driving in a car on a busy Interstate while listening to music is different than relaxing in a recliner in a suburban home.

HD-DVD = 94
Blu-Ray = 120 ( 24 Warner red2blu )

Post flagged to mods yesterday afternoon. Still waiting for them to clean out the trash.

Best post of the year!

I had a Bose system in my old car... But the HU was really made by clarion. Does that mean I'm not a baller like the OP?

It sounds ok with the engine off too. Not fantastic by any stretch, but not that bad either.
