I would update to a Monitor Audio Silver center first

Thought about that, but I do not feel like spending 500 at this time. I could sell my mint CC10 for 175 or so.

I see it sells for $499 shipped, but is there a lower price elsewhere (cant seem to find one)?

How much of an upgrade will it be over my CC10??

There will be a better balance and blend up front - and should be noticable

Been looking at other Monitor Audio centers, but I know nothing about these models:

Monitor Audio - Bronze BX - Center - 2-Way Speaker ($299 shipped)
Monitor Audio MR Center ($199 shipped)
Monitor Audio BRLCR Center ($ eBay auction)

Monitor Audio Silver center is over $575 at this point

What will be my better choice then what I have (Energy CC10)?

If money is tight, then go with the Bronze - at least it will be Monitor Audio

So only go with the bronze for $299, or if can wait, the silver (if I can get it again for $499, I see it is at $575 as I type)?

My problem is the center cannot be higher than 7 1/4" or 7 5/16" max. Width and length pose no issue...

If the Silver will not fit, or if budget constraints - then at least, go with a Monitor Audio center channel.

Do as I told you based on my personal experience. .get a single rx1 and use as center. I've read a few reviews where the bookshelf did a better job than the center channel because it had a better axis dispersion ...
