Hi All,

New here so be gentle.  I recently bought a house where the previous owner had a 20' X 15' room specifically as his theater room. He had a projector and 7.1 surround sound system.  Once he left, he took everything but left the speaker wires sticking out of the wall for the side and rear speakers.

I'm will be putting in a projector with a 110" screen and will use a Pioneer VSX70 receiver.  The problem is I am having a tough time figuring out what speakers I should get.  I'd like to get a pair of floorstanding speakers for the front and a nice center speaker.  A good subwoofer between $300-$500 and some smaller (maybe satellite speakers for the side and back to mount where the previous owner left the wires sticking out).

I'd like the keep the speaker total under $2000 including the sub, if possible.

I was thinking 2 Infinity Primus P363 floorstanders and the PC351 for the center. Thoughts? What would you get for the other speakers?

Any suggestions or advice is greatly appreciated.

Also, will the Pioneer VSX 70 be fine with the Primus P363? I don't understand the "ohms" thing. :(

Smasher50 - Wow, the HSU hybrid 15 7.1 package seems like a very nice setup and it's only $1,839.

Anyone know how the HSU's compare to an Infinity Primus setup?

Any other recommendations?

No one can really tell you what speaker will sound better to you....however, I would say the hsu and infinity primus are in the same class!

Set up #1: EMP e5ti, e5Ci, and SLS Q line Audio surrounds, EMP 10i10i sub
Set up #2: Def Tech SM450, CLR2002, SLS Qline surrounds and Klipsch 12wD sub
Set up #3: JBL130, JBL120C and Klipsch synergy sub

if strictly for ht and looks are not an issue and you want near reference loudness I would look into the chase home theater -theater-10's (new version of the sho-10's) $300 ea. until the end of November then they will be $395 ea. and 4 m1's $400 for rear surrounds $1300 gives you $700 for a great sub http://www.chasehometheater.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5570
