Hey guys, I went on a little family vacation to Disney World for a week or so and just got back. I'm worn out from all the walking and standing but it was nice to get a little sunshine and warm weather. We had a great times and the kids loved every minute of it.

I see I missed some good discussions, now what's all this about PSA speakers? When do they come out?

That's great. It's my favorite place! We went for two weeks over Xmas.

Did you go on ellens energy adventure in Epcot? It has a sub woofer in the auditorium the size of a refrigerator.

I did, it's the first time we went on it and everyone really liked it. I believe that sub has to be at least that large to fill that place. I found myself listening to the SQ at all the different attractions wondering where the subs were hidden and how big they had to be.

My family loves Disney World. The new Fantasyland was pretty nice, I just wish the new Seven Dwarf roller coaster had been open but it's not quit completed yet.

We go to Disney 2-3 times a year. And it's actually Disney that made me fall on love with great bass. The bass "blast" when the words the Lion king come on screen at the now extinct lion king puppet show in MK. IT WAS SO DEEP. And powerful I was sold.

I do the same thing wondering what types of subs and where they are. And yes energy auditorium is humongous and the Big Bang needs that bass (although I would think it's only about 30hz)

Glad you had fun. Mine train should be open during the sunmer

Hehehe biggrin.gif the subject popped up last December during a conversation with Tom about future projects. I showed extreme interest and preordered the first ones that will be made. Now things are being finalized and looking good. Not sure how much longer but it'll be soon. I'm going to ask him if I can share the details tomorrow and see how it's going. smile.gif

"... extreme interest". I like that! smile.gif

I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for the details too. PSA have an Australian dealer, so these will be a genuine contender for me if the price is right. Other than DIY, there's a distinct lack of (reasonably priced) options down here for dynamic, high sensitivity speakers for home theatre, so this is exciting news.

Hmmm this sounds like it would be a great option for you. So far for the price it seems like these speakes will be hard to beat!

Well I talked to TOM today smile.gif if everything goes as planned the new line of PSA HT speakers will be finalized within 30 days from now. Afterwards they'll be able to start ordering the equipment and taking preorders. so im looking at around 2-3 months until I have the first set of speakers in my hands. as far as details I cant really say for sure because there could be some last minute changes but once theyre finalized ill know all the details and specs. they are all going to be the same speakers, front, center, and rears. so a set will be identical. the drivers will be pretty large and the speakers will have a high sensitivity. so far if they go with the design that they have now then theyre already awesome!! I just cant say yet incase something gets changed with it smile.gif

I just cant say yet incase something gets changed with it smile.gif

That sounds very cool.

Wow, that's a significant markup. Sorry to see that. :(

Those are pretty cool and wild looking speakers. I didn't see any prices though. What do they run?

See if you can find a used pair of Platinum Audio Air Pulse 3 speakers.
They use to list for $130,000 a pair - the word is that they sound good!

Understood BMK. Thanks for the update. Isn't it great that you can pick up the phone and talk to the co-owner?! It's perfectly understandable that Tom doesn't want too much info out in the wild just yet... there's any number of things that can throw a spanner in the works at this stage and cause last minute changes and/or delays. It's a fine line to tread between advance publicity and certainty of delivery.

On another note, I guess we should have known PSA would eventually dive into the speaker market. The "About Us" screen on PSA's website says:
Quote:
Power Sound Audio designs, develops, and assembles high quality loudspeakers and subwoofers for home theater environments. Located in the heartland of America, Power Sound Audio is headquartered in a small Midwest town called Mineral Ridge, OH.
How 'bout that! smile.gif

Hey Geigar "spanner" is a term I've never seen before. What does it mean?  Your phrase sounds similar to something I've heard said here in America but here I've heard it said: "throw a monkey wrench in the works". Is a spanner anything like a wrench or is it something totally different?

I kind of suspected that. That's a good chunk of change but they are pretty cool looking.

Sorry Hoppers, I missed this earlier. Yes, this is what we call a spanner (on the left):

Actually, just about everything in this family of tools is generically called a spanner. Combination, ring, shifting etc. "Wrench" is a rarely used term. I guess what you might call a monkey wrench, we would call Stillsons or a pipe (you guessed it... ) spanner.

Thanks Geigar, I always like learning the differences in terminology between different countries. After see the poster for Sidchrome I almost feel like ordering a wrench from Australia. ;)
