I am considering getting my parents some kind of speaker system/home theater for their tv. I am considering simply getting a soundbar but have also thought about getting a 3.1 system. They will not need rear surrounds at the moment. Is it possible to get a 3.1 system with a receiver for approximately $400 or am I better off with a soundbar at that price range? Any suggestions on speakers and/or receiver are appreciated. Thanks.
