My brother currently has old BOSE cubes that he's considering replacing. His Bose amp is fubarred, so he'll be buying a new Denon AVR-X3000. Due to WAF, he's limited to either in-walls or small wall mounts - no bookshelves. He can either keep the BOSE speakers, or buy Hsu In-walls, or buy Orbs. He'll need a sub - probably a Hsu if he goes with the in-walls. For the Orbs, either a Hsu or Orb sub. His room size is pretty average - maybe 200 sq. ft. He'll be using the system for both Home Theater (5.1, possibly 7.1), and for occasional music of various types, but probably has no requirement for serious audiophile quality or extreme volume. Of the three options (keep the Bose - probably not really an option...) or in-wall Hsu, or on wall Orbs, is there any reason to pick one over the other? If he goes with the Orbs, is there any reason to go with a Hsu sub instead of an Orb?

Thanks for any input you can give!!!!

Hsu will have much greater dynamic range, but Orbs do have a very good frequency response, on and off axis. Orbs do roll off at 200 Hz though, and their sub isn't an extension champ either. I would go for the Hsus personally, they will sound more authoritative.
