Hi I decided on the surrounds for the Duet mode mostly that way I can have a full 7.1 system with only 5 speakers.
http://www.svsound.com/speakers/Ultra-Surround#.UrX7m1fKmVo
I know the norm is get the 3 fronts first then get speaker for the rear.

This is my list which ones would match better. At the moment I dont have any high end speakers, nor do I have a close store to audition. Nearest store 4 hours away. I might as well trust you guys recommendation/ advice.

The reason I listed the Focal is cause I always liked the way they look with the grill on, but it seem no one use grill for better sound. Also cause they are reduced from a super high price. I also listed the others cause of super good reviews.

PSB Image T6 and center (they look classy)
Focal Chorus 836V and center (they look intimidating)
Focal Profile 918 and center (do they perform better or part of the price is for the finish?) also they are 2 way are 3 way better?
Arx A5 and center (SplitGap and planar-magnetic tweeter)
Monitor Audio Silver 8 or 10 and center (look great)

they will go with a SVS or HSU Subwoofer, I will ask for recommendations later on.
Thanks.

I did look at the SVS ultra towers but esthetically I dont like them very much, I know that look dont matter for sound, sound is #1 when looking for speaker but after all they will be part of the decoration/family room for years to come.

I guess I will only look at front ported speaker
From the wall to the front of the TV I have about 18'' from wall to the front of the TV stand about 27''. I assume front ported speaker would be easier to setup as far as rear space goes. That way they can go flush with the TV or the TV stand/desk
Or would the others work with that much space from the wall?

The reason Im willing to spend 2k is only if those focal are worth it considering they are on sale for discontinuation reasons. Or would it be hard to tell to a new guy like me.

You want to try out Aperion Verus Grands. I have a set, and they are wonderful. Another ID brand, with a generous return policy (including shipping both ways) if you decide they don't cut it. FWIW, in the first review I read of SVS towers, they recommended Aperions as a better alternative at that price point. FWIAW, I run mine with an SVS sub, a PB 12 +, and they mate together very well.
