Hello all!

Happy new year to everyone!

I need to buy 2 front speakers for my kids room and i'd like to benefit from the new year's big sales to get better price.

My receiver is an Onkyo TX-NR509 and I'm not looking to buy a 5.1 speakers set for the moment, only the 2 fronts. This kids room is mostly used for watching TV (movies) and also listening to music)

I have come accross this "look like a good deal" at BestBuy but I don't know nothing about this JBL brand.

JBL LOFT 50 - 400$ for the pair.

What u guy think of these?

And I'm open to all your good suggestions!

Thanks,

How big is the from?

What sort I music do your kids listen to?

Any space or design considerations?

I am I correct in assuming $400 is your budget?

Thanks.

Where are you located?

do you ever plan to expand this system beyond 2 speakers?

If the top of your budget is $600 there's a lot of very good speakers available to you.

Music : Mostly dance (pop) and Rock

No space or design consideration....its a classic 12x14 room.

budget is 400-600$

I may be tempted to expand this system on day.....but certainly not for the moment.

Well, if you live near a Fry's Electronics you may be able to get good speakers for as little as $107 each. You didn't give your location.

If you're limiting yourself to Best Buy the JBL's probably decent. They also have some Polk speakers that you may like. And even some entry level Pioneer towers for cheap.

If you're willing to buy online then your list of choices really opens up.

Thanks again afrogt,

I'm in Quebec, Canada and I'm not limited to bestbuy I just wanted to see if that deal was worth it or that I should try and get something else.

I'm also willing to buy online (but would prefer in store as I could go get them tomorrow)....already done before for my HT (bought Axiom speakers).
