This is my first time hometheater setup. Planning to buy a good speaker with budget around 3K

SVS speakers are exactly with in my budget.

Is SVS bookshelfs, center and sorrounds worth of 2900$ ? If not pls advise the alternatives.

For the money I think they are pretty dang good. One suggestion would be to go with another bookshelf as your center if you can fit it there.

I have never heard them myself but I have read that they are good. The great part about SVS is they have free shipping to your home and from your home if you decide to return them and they have a 45 day free in home trial. The best place to demo speakers is in your home so this is a perfect way to see if you like them at absolutely no cost to you.

Only you can really decide if they are worth $3000 because you are the one listening to them.

Thnx for all your responses
I looked at many discussion threads here, not much discussion going on those speakers, so looks like they are not worth.
I'll look for other ones

Check out Definitive Technology speakers. There is a 228 page thread on the 600/800/1000 series with lots of great info. I would suggest getting three of the same speakers across the front L/C/R regardless of which brand you go with.

Epson Pro Cinema 6030 | OPPO BDP - 103 | Pioneer Elite VSX 70 | Definitive Technology PM 1000 (L/R) | PC 2000 (C) | SR8040BP's (7.1) | Rythmik LV12R | Carada Criterion Brilliant White 118" | URC MX 780 & MRF 350 | ATS Acoustic Panels | Sanus AV Rack | DirecTv | Roku 2 | Monoprice 12AWG |

That's a pretty ridiculous assumption. Read the reviews. They are nice speakers and compete well within their price range. Plus you have a no risk 45 day trial period.

The suggestion of Def Tech pro monitors has to be a joke, right?

Klipsch RF-62II, RC-500, RS-400, SVS PC12+,

Def Tech BP 8080 towers or the Mythos towers are worth looking into. The PM's were for a different thread. Good catch.

there you go that's using your brain power. NOT....ever heard of judging things yourself. Do you feel the 45 day risk free trial won't serve it's purpose?

Agree on the BP towers. I demoed the 8060s and 8040s and they were really good for HT. Could get by without a sub if you don't need 20hz or lower extension.
