Perhaps @popalock can video conference in with his killer Bose sepakers.

Would be cool to hear how the Yorkville's compare with the M2's.

Some pre-fight press conference material to chew on

Good read. Love thinking of what would be the ultimate HT speakers....Cat12, JBL M2, Noesis, so many choices.

All the one's you mentioned are the ultimate IMO, just depends on which one makes you smile.

Yea, and one's you've either already owned or will shortly. Admit it Dave, your wallet is doomed...

If you take yourself too seriously expect me to do the exact opposite

Yea, they're all ultimate until you hear something better. Then they're up for sale and you're fundraising .

BTW, hearing a better speaker doesn't somehow make all the other speakers garbage. They're still great speakers that will make you smile, just not ultimate

I just heaved a pair of brand new 215's into my new room. I can guarantee I am done. Well, for maybe a month

I know, nothing has ever really grabbed my attention like the Danley SM60F's did. If Danely is to ever build a real home theater speaker, I will certainly want to demo them. I still have not listened to my 215's yet. I am hoping to get the rack wired tomorrow and taking them out for spin. If the 215's don't work out and I ultimately hate them. I will put them up for sale and go back to my 212's. I will always be watching and looking for the next speaker. I would like to hear the M2's, but that is getting near the price of a new Harley. The wife and I have been looking at some of the new Harley's and they are pretty sweet.

If and when my basement gets finished and another HT is built, I'm pretty sure Danely SH50's will be my LCR.

For HT, I personally don't think the M2's are necessary. At least for me. Accuracy is somewhat important for HT, but other characteristics are more important IMO. Those being dynamic range and smooth, non-fatiguing, top end.

The best way to critically listen to audio is with the eyes closed, and that's not really possible while watching a movie .

My motivation for getting the M2's was for music, because that's where their uncanny realism and accuracy matter. Close your eyes and dig deep into the recording with the M2's and it's like 3D audio.

But I could be happy with JTR, Danley, or Seaton with movies and not have an urge to upgrade. But I have to admit, if I were to buy speakers for a dedicated HT the first speaker I would have in there to audition would be Quested LT10's with those AMT drivers.

They would actually be a great speaker to try and get into the ring for the Thrilla in Gorilla.

Ok, we've got some fresh blood into the competition so long as the dates work out. The Questeds look like an excellent speaker that will be a more than worthy competitor me thinks

Gooddoc Roger said yes, he will attend your event and supply a pair of lt-10's modified with center aligned amt. This has to be coordinated as part of Rogers American tour so pm me some dates and details. The jbl m2 sounded very good and the jbl calibration was excellent, still the lt-10 is better.;-)

I don't know .

i'm just trying to make it worth happening before it ever happens

Hopefully Gorilla finds some time to even think about it. I think he said he's been fairly busy lately.

Just between the JTR 215's, the Questeds, and the JBL M2's we have a great representation of the best speakers on the market IMO. It's a fine start!

@Gorilla83 - whatya thinkin'?

Sounds like quite a lineup! Still the rest of my travel schedule for the rest of the year is fairly uncertain. I'm hoping to get a better picture sometime soon, but we've been so busy I hadn't pushed to hard to firm up all the plans at work yet.

Ok, start pushing .

Seriously though, when you can establish some tentative dates I'll get those over to the Quested folks.

I would love to host, however my theater is way to small not to mention I have so much to do around here before I have any company of any kind. We are also getting ready to do a big remodel, place could be ripped up really soon. As I said when we move in to our new home in a few years, I will surely host some good AVS meets.

I could potentially make one of those two happen, but I think Rilla has a pair that is an awful lot closer to him that could also possibly make it

That @CINERAMAX fellow is quite a character... My last encounter with him, he want to charge me $1,000 for some response graphs of a full Dynaudio setup he did for his brother-in-law...Haha, check it out.

You are not getting the plots i promise. You can for $1,000.

No one has demonstrated here the kind of systems I have been putting together, I know what sounds good. And I am my worst critic.

But just ask the Bland. I find 95% of sound systems woefully inadequate in the fatigue department, when you follow my advice you are going to get as fatigue free as it comes, that's why Me no likey Revel sorry.

Some speakers are hard to implement and some like the dynaudios sound great in untreated rooms. That is the fact of life.
That said, anyway you guys can get some in room measurements of any gear he brings? I know you guys won't charge me for them.

First of all you do not know where I live, how i live, and the traveling costs to go to that room which is across the state, and putting up with my ex sister in law pains me $2,000. So what is the fuzz? This is the ulytra high end forum where expert ears always trump instrumentation, this popalock chracter seems to be all graph and little system.

I'm sorry, I was under the impression you were asking for $1k from Popalock.... just to send him the graphs you pulled from your in-law's setup.
