I was initially doing in wall LCR speakers for my two home theaters , but now don't want to cut the wall and mess with insulation on exterior wall.
I am looking into bowers & Wilkins C9&C10 towers with center channel.

Please advise some more high end stuff which are not available in our big box retail stores.
Looking for towers , center channel and sub.
Rest would be in celing speakers.

Both rooms are 23x21'
One room will have 5.1 set up other 7.1

I think I'll just do one sub in each room.
Budget - upto $3000 per room for left , right towers , center channel and a sub.

Any slim profile speakers will be great but not a must.

If it were me, I'd look at less expensive speakers and get two subs per room. Think a pair of SVS PB2000s per room ($1399) or something similar. $1600 for LCR is still a pretty nice budget. I'm partial to Klipsch (of course smile.gif ). They are great for home theater.

Klipsch RF-62II, RC-500, RS-400, SVS PC12+,
Def Tech SC8000
Harman Kardon AVR 1600
PS3, Apple TV, Sharp 70" Qattron

For that budget, I would recommend the PSB Image T6 towers ($1300) and C5 center speaker ($500) with an NHT B12D subwoofer ($800).

An excellent system for $2600; hard to beat.

Another excellent system would be the KEF Q700 towers ($1500) and the Q200c center speaker ($500) with the NHT B12D.

$2800 for that one.

B & W is definitely overpriced for what you get IMO.

Are two subs worth it ? I never thought about doing two subs. This is going to be my first HT so I am a novice here.

That would all depend on you and your needs/wants. Dual subs, properly implemented, will smooth out frequency response to more seating positions. It may or may not provide additional SPL depending on placement and room interaction. Bass is HEAVILY influenced by the room and seating position. Multiple subs will help to counteract the negative influences.

Since you are using subs, there is no performance advantage to run full towers. You'll get better performance out of higher end bookshelves at the same price point as full towers. You say your room is 23' x 21'. How far will you be sitting from each of the speakers. That distance may or may not eliminate some speaker choices as some speakers with low sensitivity may not be able to reach high enough volumes if they're too far from the seating positions.

I think your room is large enough to warrant two subs for sure, especially since it sounds like you'll have more than one seat. smile.gif

What are you planning for the surround channels?

Again, a pair of SVS PB2000s would be really nice in those rooms. Actually I think they're $1499/pair, not $1399. You can get the recently discontinued model, PB12-NSD for $1299/pair.

So maybe three klipsch RB81s across the front for around $1K.

Just went to local Best Buy and manager is making a deal on CM10 half off on B&W , so I can get two CM10 towers for $2K , Center channel half off and two 10" B&W subs half off.  Should I go for it and stop looking at other speakers. I think it's a steal. What do you say ?
