Been a long time since I've been here smile.gif
And lot's of knowledgeable people so i've returned.

I'm in the Market for some Boss Bookshelf speakers- Wouldn't mind some help as I'm a bit out on the current gen of audio. (It went to crap)
Very limited space in my house, and a choice set of Bookshelfs are about all I can handle.

I'm currently looking at the Ascend Acoustics Sierra-1s, but want advise from others out there for similarly priced speakers.

To power them, I was thinking the Denon AVR-X1000 to power them, (unless I should be looking at something else)
It sure would be nice to find a solid tube-amp that won't break the bank.

Boss is a very low budget band. Not bad stuff just low end. They come from a Car audio background. I would see no reason for someone to post on here about looking specifically for Boss.  I really think he meant Bose but if he reads much on here, it won't take long for him to see that pretty much no-one on here will recommend Bose over much better for your money options. Just my $.02 worth from the short time I have been around here.

My setup:

Yamaha RX-V773 with WIFI & Bluetooth

Bic Acoustech PL-28 II center

Bic Acoustech PL-76 Newversion tower fronts

Bose 601 Series IV towers rear

Cerwin-Vega ATS-SAT4 front presence

Advent ASW-1200 sub

I think he is using slang....like a "bangin system" bc he does mention Sierra 1s.

First we need a little more info, Price, what will the system be used for, movies? music? Size of the room. Do you plan on running a sub or just the speakers?

Ignorance is a choice

Lol
Yes, I meant the slang term. I'm looking for some "Diesel" speakers. smile.gif

Price- Somewhere around the same as the Sierra-1s
$1,000 to $750 Range.

System will be used for just about everything as the centerpiece in a really small house- Movies, Playstation 3, Spotify, iTunes library.

No sub- Only speakers.
And I'll actually be using a old re-purposed Boston Micro 90c Center Channel.
I know I won't find anything that matches up to that perfectly, and that's OK. It's going to be 2-channel music, and 3 channel movies.

Although larger-
For all intents and purposes the room that these will be installed in is 15ftx10ft because of how it's designed/arranged.

Heck, the entire house is something tiny like 1,200 sq feet.
Yes, it's small.

So are my winter heating bills.

Well for that budget, you can get fronts and center - and the bass does go low >>
Some people have preferred the 530, over some more expensive popular speakers

Shoot. I'm disappointed. I hoped you meant "Bose" so I could direct you to this new thread: Bose Killers for Every Budget – a Series smile.gif
